Grandparents... There Is Nothing Better!!

What would we do without them? They bring so much wisdom and strength into our lives. Our children have always been very close to all of their Grandparent's.

When Howard's mother Jenene died, it was very hard on all the Grandchildren. I can still remember Anya, Katie and Alissa sitting in the back of the room during her viewing crying their eyes out. Holding each other and trying to figure out why? Why was their very strong Grandma gone? We lost her very quickly and it was hard.

And when my father died of brain cancer. We had a little more time to repair for it, but it wasn't any easier. My dad always loved taking my children into Seattle and showing them all of his favorite spots. The Chinese Gardens and the Arboretum were two of his favorites.

Right after Christmas I took Anya over to Seattle to see my mom. On all of our regular trips over there, when Grandma gets to see Alissa and Evan, poor Anya is always at school. I'm not sure what Anya is going to do after she graduates in April? (She is talking about living in Utah) so we took a special trip to see Grandma! We had so much fun with her! I think she shocked Anya a few times. Grandma just says it how it is...

Elden got this camera last Christmas. He never used it much (didn't know what to do with it) But, with a few short lessons, he was a crazy picture taker!


Brody is drawn to Great Grandpa Jensen. He stood there for the longest time just letting him comb his hair! Brody never stays anywhere very long, but Elden has the touch!


I used to work in a Retirement home. Part of my CNA training. While I was there I became very close to two ladies named Alma and Pearl. It always broke my heart that their families never came to see them. There really was no excuse for that, they lived close! But they were probably to busy with the own lives.
Have any of you seen the LDS movie the Mailbox? I almost can't watch it. That sweet little lady walking to the mailbox everyday looking for a letter from someone in her family. And always walking back to her quiet house empty handed.


Go visit or call a Grandma or a Grandpa soon! Their days can seem very long and lonely.

They are the reason why we all are here on Earth....
